I love to hear stories of children in the Compassion Projects. They have such a deep love for the Lord and depend on him for everything. They may not have much, but they are thankful for each and everything God has given them. My sponsored child, Goodness, spurs me on in my faith. She may only be five years old, but she has a deeper love for God than people 10 times her age. I read other stories about children in Kenya whose houses were burned down. This is what a young Kenyan boy named Moses said,”…Now, the only thing we do is depend on God.” Children just believe in God and have a simple faith. As we get older, I think we complicate our faith and we don’t trust God like we should; I know I have.
Matthew 18:2-6
He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
Let’s welcome these children into our hearts and learn a thing or two about trusting God.
